LEARNING ENGLISH IN TODAY’S GLOBAL WORLD

چکیده

Abstract In comparative studies focusing on context of learning, the main contexts under investigation have been study abroad (SA), at-home formal instruction (AH), and domestic immersion (IM). With global status English its burgeoning popularity as a medium in countries where only holds lingua franca, new SA has emerged. This compares L2 learning this franca (ELFSA) to Anglophone AH terms oral written complexity, accuracy, fluency gains. Participants’ perceptions contextual differences concerning amount language contact, use, development, their views toward are also explored qualitatively. Apart from indicating equal development most CAF measures after semester, qualitative findings highlight ELFSA providing low-anxiety atmosphere that helps sojourners gain ownership English. Thus, emerges an appealing for future sojourners.
